This blog has been created with the idea of communicating to both residents and anyone living outside of Castletown. This blog will not replace the residents-only Castletown Residents’ Network in any way, but should provide another outlet for information and discussion from our community.

I am a none resident who regularly parks on castle town. I am legally entitled to park on a public road as I pay my road tax and I refuse to pay the excessive parking fees for the priviledge of working in the town. In addition to this my husband used to live in castle town, and yes parking is an issue but he accepted that this is part of living on a terraced estate near a train station and a town centre! Both of our cars had been vandalised whilst he lived there, the area is noisy and dirty and is not a place I would choose to live. So we both got better jobs, worked hard and moved to the ‘suburbs’ with a driveway! The fact that residents are going to pay for the priviledge to park in there own street is laughable. So instead of spending all those long hours you obviously need to fill filming us law abiding drivers, how about putting in some overtime for those extra pennies to buy/rent a house with a driveway! The very fact that only half of your questionairres were sent back, speaks volumes. Most people living there accept it or move, the area is only really suited for students and bedsits.
